Tina Catalone, Ph.D., PMP is the Founder and President of The STEM Labs, a PreK-12th grade educational enrichment center providing integrated learning programs in the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Dr. Catalone has a B.S. in Genetic Engineering from Cedar Crest College and a Ph.D. in Cell and Molecular Biology from Penn State College of Medicine. She completed her post-doctoral work at the Institute of Human Virology and also holds her Professional Project Management certification. Dr. Catalone has over 20 years in biotech research, teaching, and leadership experience at academic universities and the biopharmaceutical industry. She served as an Assistant Professor at Drexel University College of Medicine and DeSales University, and is currently a Research Professor at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Dr. Catalone has successfully developed grant-funded programs and she is a strong advocate for Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning programs. Dr. Catalone is a mother of four active kids and enjoys volunteering in the community.
Laura Sellers joined the board of Vantage Pointe in August 2017. She is a Commercial Lines Account Manager with Wells Insurance. Her experience in the industry includes non-profit, small artisan, corporate, and individual commercial insurance; as well as personal, and life insurance. Laura has volunteered both locally and globally including in organizations that provide free education in Mexico. She has also volunteered at The Salvation Army, Faith Building Ministries, The Big Talker, and Life Challenge International.
Melissa joined the board of Vantage Pointe in April 2017. She is a Senior Loan Officer with the renewable energy team at Live Oak Bank. Melissa joined Live Oak in 2013 as a Special Assets Officer after 15 years of varied commercial credit positions with community and regional banks in North Carolina and Florida. Her experience includes commercial lending, portfolio management, underwriting, special assets, and training and loan Documentation. Melissa has volunteered with a number of organizations over the last twenty years, serving on the boards of The Junior League of Sarasota and The Junior League of Winston-Salem. Locally, she volunteers with Junior Achievement, Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, Junior League of Wilmington, Habitat for Humanity, YMCA of Southeastern NC, and Girls Leadership Academy of Wilmington. Melissa has a B.S. in Business Administration from UNC at Chapel Hill.
Cheryl MorloteBoard Member
Cheryl Morlote joined the board of Vantage Pointe in April 2017. She is the HR Director for Wells Insurance with over 20 years of experience in the human resources field. Cheryl holds both her SPHR and her SHRM-SCP certifications and has worked in both the private and public sectors. She also serves on the board of the Lower Cape Fear Human Resource Association and the NC SHRM State Council. Her past volunteer experience includes serving on the board of the United Way of Craven County, and as a Guardian ad Litem in New Hanover County; Cheryl has also volunteered with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC, the Good Shepherd House, Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Inc., and Cape Fear Academy.
Michael PalomboVice Chair
Michael joined the Board of Vantage Pointe in November of 2017. He is an Associate Attorney at Arthur & Betts, PC where he started in October of 2016. His law practice encompasses entity selection and formation, business planning, mergers & acquisitions, contracts and contract disputes, and estate and succession planning. He hold an AB in Psychology and Philosophy from Elon University and a Juris Doctor from Campbell University. A resident of Wilmington, Michael is excited to serve his community through his involvement with Vantage Pointe.
